A pair of giant pandas arrived in Washington D.C. from China to move into their new home at the U.S. National Zoo.
The Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute has been without pandas for nearly a year after returning two adult pandas and their cub earlier this year.
The new male and female pandas Bao Li and Qing Bao undertook an approximately 19-hour trans-Pacific journey from the Sichuan Province in southwest China.
The video shows parts of their journey taken in large white boxes with breathing holes in the side before arriving and settling into their enclosures.
The pair were warmly welcomed into the zoo, where they will remain inside the facility’s panda house for 30 days under quarantine.
