BOZEMAN, Mont. – An overnight standoff in Bozeman ended Wednesday morning with the suspect in custody.

The Bozeman Police Department (BPD) warned residents of a heavy police presence around 9th and Lamme St. around 11:00 pm Tuesday night for a man who barricaded himself inside a home with a rifle.

Homes close to the standoff were evacuated, and others in the area were asked to shelter in place, and Lewis and Clark County/Helena PD SWAT traveled to Bozeman for additional support.

At 6:45 am, BPD said roads around 9th and Lamme St. were still closed, but that 11th Ave. was open, and that buses will run as normal for school.

They also said an increased police presence around Bozeman High School will be increased due to the standoff.

The suspect is in custody as of 7:10 am, and BPD reports there is no active threat.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
