RICHLAND, Wash.- A multi-station outdoor fitness center will open at Howard Amon Park on Thursday, June 6th at 11 a.m.

According to the City of Richland, the outdoor center is a result of the National Fitness Campaign (NFC) initiative to combat obesity. NFC is a wellness consulting firm with an award-winning initiative to fund healthy communities through partnerships with schools and local governments to build Fitness Courts.

The outdoor Fitness Court is set to be NFC’s 500th project. The fitness center will be adaptable to all fitness levels encompassing seven stations that focuses on body weight exercises designed for those 14-years-old and over.

Richland City Manager Jon Amundson says, “Howard Amon Park is the perfect setting to encourage users to get outside and focus on their health and wellness. I’m confident this will be an asset to this park and our community.”

Users of the Fitness Court can download an app for a ‘Coach-in-your-pocket style platform.’
