An original “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” film poster which features a famous image of Audrey Hepburn is expected to fetch up to $10,212 at auction.

The artwork features a photograph of the late actress with an overlong cigarette holder, which is said to be one of the most iconic images in 20th-century cinema.

The poster, which is expected to fetch $6,382 to $10,212 at auction, is linen backed and was printed in 1961, the same year as when the film was released.

The $14 million box office hit follows Audrey Hepburn’s character Holly Golightly who falls in love with struggling writer Paul Varjak while attempting to marry for money.

Poster specialist Henry Coleman said: “The Breakfast at Tiffany’s cinema poster artwork is one of the most iconic in the last 100 years.

“To have such a good example from the year of release is something truly special.”

The poster will go to auction at Ewbank’s Auctioneers in Guildford, Surrey on Aug. 7 alongside a Space Odyssey poster that is expected to fetch $3,191 to $4,468.

It was printed in Japan and was used for numerous cinema screenings all around the world.

A huge, framed poster for the 1953 romance film Genevieve will also be going to auction and is expected to sell for $2,553 to $3,829.

A linen-backed poster created for the release of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 film To Catch A Thief also has a guide price of $700 to $1,000.

The black and white artwork is of the film’s stars Cary Grant and Grace Kelly embracing above a dramatic rooftop scene.
