SALEM, Ore.-The Oregon Broadband Office will be getting $157 million to expand broadband infrastructure across the state.
The funding, announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, is through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Capital Projects Fund.
According to a press release announcing the funding from Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s Office the money will be used to expand broadband to an estimated 17,000 locations throughout Oregon.
“This unprecedented funding will strengthen Oregon’s broadband infrastructure and expand access to quality internet service,” said Oregon Governor Tina Kotek.
