PASCO, Wash.- An open house for the upcoming Aerospace Innovation and Manufacturing Center will allow the community to talk to officials about their comments or concerns with the project.
The AIM Center is set to be built at the Tri-Cities Airport and will support aviation industries. It will take over around 460 acres west of Runway 12 and construction will take about six years, but the AIM Center could take up to 20 years to be completed after a full build out.
“We want to be very intentional about this project,” says Randy Hayden, Executive Director at the Port of Pasco. “The state has set an ambitious goal to increase manufacturing jobs across Washington and right now, we have an opportunity to work with the state and build an industrial center that will attract steady, family-wage jobs in one of the state’s fastest-growing industry sectors.”
The Master Plan for the center identifies infrastructure including roads, power and environmental impacts needing improvement as the project moves on.
The open house is scheduled for November 15 from the McGee Elementary School. Officials from the Tri-Cities Airport and the Port of Pasco will be there from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
