TOPPENISH, Wash.-Both directions of US 97 are currently closed due to a deadly car versus semi crash.
According to Trooper Chris Thorson with the Washington State Patrol, one person is dead after the crash on US 97 and LaRue Road in Yakima County that happened around noon.
The closure is near milepost 61 south of Toppenish and a detour is in place, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.
There is currently no timeframe for when the roadway will be reopened.
