WEST RICHLAND, Wash.- A fire that destroyed a West Richland trailer home on Thursday evening is under investigation.
According to Benton County Fire District 4, firefighters received reports around 5:40 p.m. of smoke coming out of an RV near West Van Giesen St. Firefighters confirmed a small fire inside the RV’s entrance.
Officials confirmed that no one was home during the fire, and the surrounding property remained undamaged. However, firefighters ruled the trailer unlivable due to smoke damage.
Chief Paul Carlyle of BCFD 4 says faulty wiring is often the cause of trailer fires; however, the cause of this fire is under investigation.
