YAKIMA, Wash. – A fire in the wrecking yard at Nob Hill Auto Wrecking in Yakima has burned 100 wrecked cars, according to Yakima Fire Deputy Chief DJ Goldsmith.

The fire started on Wed., July 10 and continued burning throughout the night. It is expected to continue burning for several weeks.

SR 24 was also closed overnight between I-82 and University Parkway for crews to work on the fire. It was reopened Thursday morning.

As a result, the nearby Yakima Greenway is closed and will reportedly remain closed at Robertson Landing for several days.

No injuries or other structures have been damaged, per Goldsmith.
