YAKIMA, Wash.-Firefighters responded to a house fire on the 100 block of S. Fair Ave on the morning of Dec. 29.
Fire crews arrived on scene around 8 a.m. and found the single-family home about 80 percent involved in the fire, according to Yakima Fire Battalion Chief, Captain Wagner.
The home was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported in the fire.
The fire was completely out by about 8:30 a.m., however, crews remained on scene for over an hour cleaning up.
According to Wagner, the fire started in the home and it is now uninhabitable. The cause is officially under investigation, although it is unknown which agency will conduct the investigation.
Witnesses at the scene reported to the fire department that people had recently been seen entering and leaving the home.
