New warnings highlight vaping’s immediate impact on blood vessels

UNITED STATES – Scientists are issuing new warnings about vaping, revealing that it affects blood vessels within minutes, even when using nicotine-free vapes. This revelation is raising concerns about potential long-term health issues.

Experts caution that these changes could lead to serious health problems such as blood clots, heart attacks, and strokes. The ingredients in vapes may also cause inflammation, impacting the entire body.

Researchers emphasize that there is growing evidence suggesting e-cigarettes are not a safe alternative to smoking. They hope this research will guide regulators in determining which products are safe for consumers.

The study was recently presented at a conference for the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago.

In other health news, a concerning trend is emerging among women. Young and middle-aged women are being diagnosed with lung cancer at higher rates than men, despite many having never smoked tobacco.

Cigarette smoking remains the leading risk factor for lung cancer. However, there are approximately 40,000 cases annually in the U.S. among people who have never smoked. Over the past 42 years, lung cancer rates have risen 84 percent among women while dropping 36 percent in men.

Scientists are puzzled by this trend, with a leading hypothesis pointing to a rise in a genetic mutation that increases the likelihood of the disease.
