OLYMPIA, Wash.-The Washington Department of Health launched a new online tool to help residents connect with their closest Women, Infants and Children Clinic and apply for benefits.

WIC is for people who are pregnant, recently delivered a baby, who are breast/chest-feeding, and infants and children under 5 years old, according to a DOH press release on the new online tools.

The program also helps clients with health screenings, referrals and nutritional education.

The WIC Clinic Locator map shows over 200 WIC Clinics across the state with contact information, including clinic addresses, phone numbers and hours of operation.

“The WIC Clinic Locator tool is another important step the state of Washington is taking to modernize the WIC Program, and improve equitable access,” said Michele Roberts, Assistant Secretary for Prevention and Community Health, DOH.

DOH also launched a new WIC Interest Form, that people can fill out online and submit to the clinic of their choice to be contacted directly.

“Our goal with this tool is to spread awareness of WIC, and remove as many barriers as possible,” said Roberts.
