YAKIMA, Wash. – A new fire at Yakima Sportsman State Park will continue to burn for a few days, according to Yakima Suncomm.
Fire crews responded to the fire on Keys Road late Wednesday night and returned on Tuesday, July 4. According to a Yakima Valley Emergency Management Facebook post, the fire did not threaten homes, but Sportsman State Park was closed to the public.
Images from Legends Casino Tower Camera showed smoke in the surrounding area.
This is the second fire Yakima fire crews respond to in that area. A 21-acre fire prompted Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations on June 21.
