LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – Nathan Hochman is stepping into his new role as the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
Hochman takes over from George Gascón, who lost his bid for reelection. The 61-year-old former federal prosecutor ran as an independent, though he previously ran as a Republican in 2022 for a different office.
One of the significant cases Hochman will handle involves the Menendez brothers. The previous District Attorney, Gascón, had supported the resentencing of the Menendez brothers.
In October, Gascón recommended resentencing for the brothers, which could potentially lead to their release from prison.
