YAKIMA, Wash. – The MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital held a ceremonial construction kickoff event on Friday to celebrate the expansion of Children’s Village, a clinic providing over 30 different services to children with special health needs.
The Children’s Health and Medical Program (CHAMP) Campaign hopes the expansion of the Children’s Village and upgrading the Family Birth Center will increase access to medical pediatric specialty services.
“We are finally now underway on our expansion,” said Children’s Village CEO Laura Crooks. “This will bring additional behavioral health services. It will bring additional additional medical services to our valley to treat children with special health care needs.”
MultiCare expects medical specialty services to increase as much as 52 percent in the next five years. Children served annually at Children’s Village has increased in the last 10 years from 4,000 to 11,500.
Construction is expected to finish by the end of 2024.
