MultiCare Yakima asks patients and visitors to mask up amidst spike in respiratory illnesses

YAKIMA, Wash.-Due to an increase in respiratory illnesses in the region, MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital is requesting that all visitors and patients wear masks.

In addition to masking, the hospital recommends everyone be up-to-date on COVID, RSV and flu vaccinations to reduce the spread of illness and protect patients and staff at hospitals and clinics.

The masking request will be in effect until further notice, according to a statement from MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital.

The mask request is in effect in the following patient care areas.

Patient floors and hallwaysPatient exam roomsFront desk/check-in areasDuring any patient interactionsEmergency departments and waiting rooms
