UNION GAP, Wash. – The MultiCare Health System announced its recent purchase of two acres of property in Union Gap which will be used to create a 10,000 square foot neighborhood emergency department.
The new location will be at the intersection of Adelyn Way and Valley Mall Boulevard.
A press release notes that the MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital has one of the busiest emergency departments in Washington, treating nearly 87,000 patients in 2023.
“There’s a critical need for more emergency medical services in the Yakima Valley,” said MultiCare Yakima President Tammy Buyok. “We believe this new neighborhood emergency department provides a sustainable way for us to meet the current and growing health care needs of the region.”
The facility will have 10 patient rooms, radiology services, X-ray, ultrasound and CT scans, lab services and short wait times for treatment.
Groundbreaking is expected to happen by the end of 2024 and looks to open late 2025.
