Motorcycle rider dies in Kennewick crash

KENNEWICK, Wash. – One woman is dead after a motorcycle crash in the area of W. Canal Drive and N. Columbia Center Blvd on October 8.

Kennewick Police Officers and Fire Department personnel responded to the crash around 7:13 p.m.

According to the KPD, Kristina Middleton,50, of Kennewick left the roadway and hit a parked car before coming to a rest on the north side of Canal Drive.

Life saving measures were tried on scene, but Middleton ultimately died from her injuries. Her next-of-kin has been notified.

Canal Drive was closed after the crash as KPD’s Traffic Unit investigated. The investigation is ongoing, however, the initial indication is that speed was a factor in the crash according to the KPD.

Canal Drive was reopened around 10:50 p.m. on October 8.

According to a Facebook post from the Kennewick Police Department, Canal Drive is closed in both directions between Young Street and Columbia Center Boulevard for a collision investigation.

KPD advises for drivers to avoid the area for the next several hours.
