BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-The mother of the four-year-old found dead at the Econo Lodge in Kennewick on Dec. 27 pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter on April 30.

Judy Bribiescas also pleaded guilty to a controlled substance trademark equipment violation, according to Benton County court documents.

Bribiescas was originally charged with first degree manslaughter after her child was found not breathing at the motel.

Paramedics performed first aid on the child before they were transported to the hospital, where they later died.

According to court documents two pills and pill fragments resembling “skittles fentanyl” were found in the child’s body.

Sentencing for Bribiescas is scheduled for May 9. The child’s father, Joseph Walker, is still facing charges of first degree manslaughter and violation of a protection order.
