MONTANA – The closing ceremony of the 2024 Summer Games is today, and athletes from our state performed well this year.

Katherine Berkoff, a swimmer from Missoula, earned her first gold medal in the women’s 4×1 team relay and a bronze in the women’s 100-meter backstroke. Nicole Heavirland, a rugby player from Whitefish, also earned a medal. Bradley Ellison, a Billings resident, took home a bronze and silver medal in archery.

Over the past few weeks in Paris, the Treasure State has made significant contributions to this year’s Summer Games. Governor Greg Gianforte was seen speaking with Wes Toscano, the founder of Toscano Machine. Toscano Machine produced many components for the Hoyt archery bows used in the competition.

Ivan Roe, a sharp-shooter and 2022 world champion, participated in today’s closing ceremonies and shared a video on Instagram. Roe, from Manhattan, Montana, has been proudly representing Team USA.

Team USA finished the games with 40 gold medals, tying with China for the most gold medals. They also dominated the total medal count, taking home 126 medals.
