FINLEY, Wash. – A single-wide mobile home caught fire in Finley Monday night during extremely cold temperatures according to Benton County Fire District 1 PIO Jenna Kochenauer.
Kochenauer says the trailer on SR 397 near East Cochran Road was fully engulfed in flames when BCFD1 crews and Benton County sheriffs arrived.
The trailer was reportedly vacant when crews arrived. Another mobile home was also threatened by the fire.
The fire was difficult to fight according to Kochenauer due to the extremely cold temperatures freezing the water as it hit the home.
Kochenauer wants the public to make sure that smoke alarms are working to prevent future fires.
No injuries were reported from the fire. The fire’s cause is currently unknown.
