Microsurfacing project starting Aug. 7 in Richland

RICHLAND, Wash. – The City of Richland is starting 2024’s Microsurfacing pavement preservation project on Wed., Aug. 7.

The City says affected residents in Central Richland will be notified by Intermountain Slurry Seal, Inc. before work begins on their streets. No parking signs will be in place a few days before.

Microsurfacing is a mix of fine aggregate, emulsified asphalt and chemical additives that are applied to the City’s roads to extend the life of existing asphalt.

Commuters can expect temporary or partial traffic impacts before the application closes roads for a part of the day. Cars, bikes, people and pets must be taken off the roads until it reopens.

For more information, visit the City’s website.
