PUERTO CHIAPAS, Mexico – Mexico’s navy seized more than 1,500 pounds of cocaine and other drugs on Tuesday.
During a routine patrol operation, officials chased down a boat and discovered the substances being transported inside the vessel.
Authorities seized the drugs and arrested the crew members on board.
The coastal area is a major trafficking route for south American cartels hoping to reach the United States.
