Memorial Aquatic Park in Pasco reopening June 22 following incident

PASCO, Wash. – After a “critical incident involving a minor,” the Memorial Aquatic Park in Pasco is reopening on Sat., June 22.

A press release from the City of Pasco says no further information on the incident can be released due to HIPAA regulations.

Following the initial closure, the City has reviewed safety protocols with staff, made safety checks and made Employee Assistance Program services available for staff members.

“We are grateful for the patience and support of the Pasco community throughout this process,” said the City in the press release. “Your trust inspires us to strive for nothing short of excellence. As we reopen Memorial Aquatic Park, we are optimistic about providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all our patrons. We look forward to seeing our community members return to enjoy the recreational opportunities our facility offers.”
