Mass Casualty training exercise planned for Central Washington campus on June 12

ELLENSBURG, Wash.-A full-scale mass casualty incident training exercise will be held on the Central Washington University campus on Wednesday, June 12.

The exercise is expected to last from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the CWU Office of Emergency Management and emergency vehicles will be in the area of 18th Avenue and Alder Street.

Announcement boards will be posted to remind the community that a drill is in progress.

The full-scale MCI exercise is being held for emergency preparedness and training for first responders and other relevant agencies to practice and evaluate their readiness to handle such situations in an efficient manner, according to a CWU press release.

Simulated white smoke will be used during the exercise that will also include actors and emergency personnel responding to a simulated incident.
