KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Benton Franklin Fair Market Stock Auction broke its sale record again in 2024, bringing in a total of $1,445,595 at the Aug. 23 auction.
2024’s total breaks the record previously set in 2023. In that year, the auction brought in $1,368,834.
A total of 412 steers, goats, lambs and pigs that were raised by youth exhibitors were sold to 345 buyers from across the region.
The buyers can choose to process their animals locally to stock their own freezers or send them to larger processors to make them part of the food supply chain. The meat is also donated locally to provide meals at the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission.
The next Benton Franklin Fair & Horse Heaven Round-Up is set for Aug. 19 to 23, 2025.
