YAKIMA, Wash.-The man suspected of killing his girlfriend in Wapato on Sept. 6 has been arrested.
Gianni Philip Alaimo, suspected of shooting and killing Heather Renee England during a domestic violence incident had been on the run for four days before being caught following a car crash on Yakima Avenue on Sept. 10, according to the YCSO.
YCSO Detectives responded to a tip from the community about Alaimo’s whereabouts spotted him in a car around 11 a.m.
After a chase the Alaimo’s car was stopped at Front Street and W. Yakima Avenue.
According to the YCSO, Alaimo was arrested and is potentially facing charges of aggravated murder in the first degree, domestic violence and assault in the second degree and domestic violence.
Yakima Avenue is now reopened to traffic after a non-injury crash blocked the roadway between 1st Avenue and Front Street.
The road was closed for about an hour as Yakima PD responded to the crash.
