KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man stole a car off the lot of a car dealership in Kennewick on Tue., May 14 and was arrested after a chase, according to a press release from the Kennewick Police Department.
KPD says at around 1:15 p.m., the man reportedly threatened an employee of the car dealership with a knife on the 400 block of South Ely Street. He then stole a car and drove off the lot.
A Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputy found the stolen car later and followed it through Kennewick into Pasco. The deputy tried to stop the stolen car, however he quickly drove away starting a chase.
The chase continued until the driver went towards a school zone. Officers found the car later and saw the man running away.
KPD says officers ran after him and later took him into custody.
The man is facing charges of robbery, car theft, eluding, obstructing justice and resisting arrest.
