HERMISTON, Ore.-The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that reportedly followed an altercation between two men on Feb. 9.
UCSO Deputies responded to the area of N Highway 395 and Punkin Center Rd. around 6:30 a.m. for reports of a physical fight between two men, with both men sustaining serious injuries.
According to the UCSO, both men involved in the fight were transported to the hospital, where one of them, a 51-year-old Hermiston man, later died from his injuries. A 27-year-old man is reportedly still being treated for his injuries.
Oregon State Police Crime Scene Unit and Umatilla County Search and Rescue processed the scene and the UCSO will provide more information as the investigation progresses.
