KENNEWICK, Wash.-One man was arrested on suspicion of assault after a weapons complaint in Kennewick on the morning of May 15.
Kennewick Police responded to the area of Kenwood Park around 12:53 a.m. for reports of a man and woman fighting followed by gunshots.
When officers arrived the man and woman were gone, however, evidence of shots fired were found in the area, according to a KPD social media post.
Police were later dispatched to E. 6th Avenue and S. Gum Street around 2 a.m. for an assault involving a man and woman with a car matching the description of the one that left the earlier scene.
According to the KPD, the man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and suspicion of assault, and may face an additional assault charge after reportedly trying to kick an officer while being cleared at the hospital.
The woman involved had minor injuries and declined any medical attention.
