KENNEWICK, Wash. – A man was arrested at a Kennewick hotel on Monday for possessing a stolen vehicle and weapons out of Pend Oreille County, according to the Kennewick Police Department.

At around 12:36 p.m., officers found the stolen vehicle during a patrol in the 300 block of North Ely Street. That vehicle had been stolen along with several guns as part of a burglary.

Upon investigation, KPD says a handgun was found in the unoccupied vehicle.

Officers later gained access to video of the burglary suspect going into a room of the hotel, where he was determined to still be.

NonStop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.

A search warrant was obtained and everyone inside the room was detained, including the suspect, a convicted felon, who was arrested for unlawful firearm possession. The others in the room were released, though charges may come to them too after all evidence is gathered.

During the investigation, drugs were found in the hotel room and a handgun was discovered hidden in an air vent.

Pasco and Richland Police both helped throughout the investigation.
