KENNEWICK, Wash. – The Kennewick Police Department arrested a man for arson and assault Saturday afternoon according to a press release.
Kennewick Fire Chief Chad Michael says a mattress was set on fire inside a casetta attached to the a home in the 1900 block of S Zinser Court.
KPD says the fire was started by an extended family member of the house owners at around 12:30 p.m. The man was found nearby 30 minutes after the fire started.
The man reportedly resisted arrest and threw a rock at an officer. He was then taken into custody and booked into the Benton County Jail for arson and assault.
Michael says there were no injuries to firefighters or the four people in the house.
