Man arrested after ramming into police vehicle, running from officers in West Richland

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – A man was arrested in West Richland on Wednesday after allegedly ramming his car into a police vehicle and running from officers, according to the West Richland Police Department.

WRPD says its officers worked with the Pasco Police Department to confront a man in West Richland who was wanted for multiple domestic violence violations.

NonStop Local typically does not name suspects until they are formally charged.

Officers found the man and blocked his car in with patrol vehicles. After speaking with him, he allegedly got back into his car and tried backing into one of the police cars.

After ramming through one of the cars, he reportedly drove across the desert onto Van Giesen Street. An officer performed a P.I.T. maneuver, causing him to get out and run away where he was ultimately was tased and taken into custody.

WRPD says the man was booked into the Benton County Jail for assaulting an officer, eluding and resisting arrest.
