YAKIMA, Wash.-Lower Cowiche Creek Trail will be closed for the next two weeks due to a planting project.
The closure along Cowiche Canyon Road from Powerhouse Road to Cowiche Canyon Lane is expected to start on Nov. 2 and last through Nov. 14, according to the City of Yakima.
The closure is necessary for the Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group to do plantings around the new pedestrian bridge in the area.
The volunteer planting event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 2.
