[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for Episodes 1-6 of Love Is Blind Season 7.]
For seven seasons Love Is Blind has brought us along the trials and tribulations of the pods. With a fair share of heated moments, love triangles, and the agony of having multiple connections, the D.C. crowd delivers.
And so did Leo Braudy, the art dealer with the Rolex. Connecting with both Brittany Wisniewski and Hannah Jiles, Leo was going through it in the pods. Dating in that kind of environment is already confusing to start with, but to be thrust into a world of vulnerability makes it all the more dramatic.
TV Insider spoke with Leo about his experience in the pods, his connection with Hannah, what happened with Brittany, and more.
When did you and Brittany go to Miami, and why did you decide to go there?
Braudy: Well, after we didn’t go to Mexico, I was bummed. We were both bummed. Who wouldn’t want to go? So we felt that we would continue the experiment in our own way and sort of do our own version. We both really wanted to see each other. We were engaged, so we decided to sort of do our own thing.
What happened outside the pods that made you and Brittany decide to break up?
Braudy: Oh, we just realized that we were better as friends, and we’re still really good friends today.
How long did your relationship last outside the pods before you realized you were better off as friends?
Braudy: You know, we had the trip outside of the pods, which was around a week, and then sort of over the trip and a little after, we just kind of realized that we just were best as friends.
You mentioned that you and Brittany are still really close today. How has that friendship evolved since your time being engaged?
Braudy: It’s been surprisingly natural feeling. We still really care for each other, and it’s one of the reasons that we got so close is because we really are comfortable around each other, and we can just talk forever. I mean, we easily spend two hours on the phone like it’s nothing. I mean, just last night, we spoke for an hour on the phone. So a lot of it’s just really nice to have a good friend to talk to and someone who went through this experience together.
Are you currently in a relationship?
Braudy: I’m not ready to discuss that, but thanks for asking.
Brittany and Hannah are very different. What was it about them that intrigued you?
Braudy: They were different people, absolutely. I always said that Hannah kind of felt like a twin flame. It almost felt like we were so similar. I felt like I was almost talking to the female version of myself, and Brittany was kind of like opposites attract. We were sort of like yin and yang, and she was really my comfort zone. So I’d say Hannah felt exciting, and Brittany felt comforting and peaceful.
Q: During your time in the experience, you often said that you didn’t want to be with someone who wanted you for your money. How did you feel when Brittany confessed that she prefers to be with a man who financially takes care of her?
Braudy: I didn’t really see that. How did I feel? I didn’t really think too much of it. I think that a big part of having a family is take care of each other, and so by that point we discussed a lot of stuff that I didn’t even really think of it.
Hannah chose Nick over you. Do you think she made a mistake?
Braudy: Oh, I can’t comment on somebody else’s journey. We are all doing our own thing, and all on our own journey. We all made our own decisions.
Is there anything in the pods you wished you could have done differently?
Braudy: I got really heated at Hannah, and I probably wasn’t my best self. I think I got really emotional and a bit fiery, and I probably wish I had kept my cool more. At the same time, I’m not used to being so vulnerable all the time. And when you’re vulnerable, especially if you’re not used to it, and you get really hurt, you can kind of maybe lash out in ways that aren’t your best self. It’s probably going to be not so fun to watch and whatever, but I think I don’t know if I was being true to myself, so I own it.

What is something you’ll take with you from your time in the pods?
Braudy: The importance of following your heart. I was really just weighed down and pulled in every direction from the indecision that I had between two amazing women, and I think that I kind of knew who I wanted, but me being afraid to follow my heart and wanting the most time possible led to a lot of unnecessary stress, or maybe it was necessary because it was a learning experience. But I think in the future, first of all, I hope to literally, I will never, ever be in that situation ever again, because it was not fun. But I think in the future, I think you just gotta follow your heart.
You and Hannah briefly talked about Van Gogh in the show. As a person in arts, who would you say is one of your lesser-known favorite artists?
Braudy: Oh, wow, an art question. God, how lesser known? I’ll give a lesser-known, but still kind of well known. Just because they’re in D.C. I love Mark Rothko. So a lot of times, with modern art, you look and it’s just like a slash on a canvas, and you’re like, “I don’t get it.” And Mark Rothko is from the surface one of those artists because it just looks like a field of color. But if you see it in person, it is one of the most moving things ever. And The Phillips Collection in D.C. has the most amazing Rothkos ever. It also has a Renoir, just one of the best Renoirs in the entire world. The Phillips Collection is amazing. Everybody should go.
