Lockdown lifted at White Swan High School

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.-UPDATE. The lockdown at White Swan High has been lifted.

According to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, the lockdown was initiated after a suspect pointed a rifle at a Sheriff’s Deputy.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported. The lockdown lasted for about 17 minutes, according to the YCSO. The suspect is reportedly an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation and Tribal Police are now investigating.

According to the Mt. Adams School District, the lockdown was lifted at 8:07 a.m. and students that were bused to Harrah during the incident are now returning to campus.

Students that had not arrived at campus yet can now return to campus.
