WAPATO, Wash. – A local winery in the Yakima Valley is hosting a Family Fun Day on Sat., May 18 from noon to 4 p.m. featuring food, wine and activities that raise awareness for fire safety.

Fortuity Cellars is working with Hoptown Pizza, The Quirky Spatula and a local artist to raise money for the Yakima Valley Fire and Injury Prevention Association.

Association volunteers will be at the event to answer fire safety questions, show kids the Exit Drills in the Home (EDITH) House, show off a real firetruck and introduce attendees to Ember, the Fire Safety Pup from the Sunnyside Fire Department.

The winery also created a custom wine label with art of Ember created by local artist Kyle Krauskopf. That bottle will be available for purchase at the event with $2 of every purchase going back to the Association.

The event is free to attend but food, beverages and watercolor portraits from Krauskopf are available for purchase. 10 percent of all sales will go back to the Association.
