Local nonprofit’s donations fuel over 30 other organizations

RICHLAND, Wash. – Martha’s Cupboard acts as the heartbeat of over 30 local outreach groups in the Tri-Cities area.

“I love knowing that what we’re doing is directly helping those who are in need,” Martha’s Cupboard Director Jonda Franklin said. “I love that we’re working with social agencies and we’re enabling their missions to be accomplished as well. “

Martha’s Cupboard provides household and personal care items in a go bag such as soap, shampoo, tissues, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

Agencies place orders detailing the supplies they need. These items are picked up by the agencies on Wednesdays from Central Church and then distributed.

Without Martha’s Cupboard, many organizations wouldn’t be able to provide the necessary help to those in need.

“As a young nonprofit, the funding doesn’t come in like in most places, but we really appreciate everything they’ve been doing for us,” Snipes H3 Young Adult Program Founder Tobaski Snipes said. “Takes a village. That’s why we’re all working together.”

Donations and grants from the community completely fund the all-volunteer, non-profit organization. More information on how to volunteer or donate can be found online.

“They helped so many organizations and so many people in our community, so many families and schools,” PB&J Ministry Co-Founder Anneliese Fenley said. “I can’t even say enough of what they do for our community.”
