KENNEWICK, Wash. – Liz Burch is an Emmy award-winning journalist with nearly a decade of experience on air. She is thrilled to join NonStop Local as the main anchor and managing editor. You can watch her at 5 and 6 p.m. every weekday.
Most recently, Liz worked in Portland, Oregon as an anchor and reporter, mostly reporting on crime, courts and City Hall. She lead coverage of riots, the mass resignation of the police unit assigned to riots, two visits by President Joe Biden, an historic rise in homicides in Portland and the Oregon Governor election.
She was awarded an Emmy for her work in 2021. She also did special reports on a rise in deadly drug overdoses and the humanitarian crisis of homelessness in the region.
Before working in Portland, Liz’s work as a T.V. journalist took her all over the country, including the Tampa, Asheville, and Spokane markets. In total, she has been nominated for six Emmy awards for her reporting.
Liz was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and is a Washington State University graduate. She lives in Tri-Cities with her fiancé. They have a small dog and cat. She and her family are excited to call Central Washington home.
