YAKIMA, Wash.-The last day to sign up for the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy is Monday, Aug. 26.
Classes are scheduled to meet on Tuesdays from 6-8:30 p.m. starting Sept. 3 at the YCSO.
According to the YCSO, classes will include patrol procedures, use of force, court procedures, criminal investigations, traffic procedures, dispatch, drone operations and K-9 operations.
Yakima County residents at least 18 years old can apply for the academy and will be subject to a background check before acceptance. Applications can be picked up at the YCSO or downloaded online.
Completed applications may be dropped off at the YCSO at 1822 S. 1st Street or emailed to robert.tucker@co.yakima.wa.us.
