MISSOULA, Mont. – Larchmont Golf Course, a county-owned facility in Missoula, is preparing for a rate increase ahead of the 2025 season. Discussions are underway within the Larchmont Board of Directors, with plans to seek further authorization from the county.

Rick Spurgeon, the General Manager at Larchmont Golf Course, emphasized the course’s commitment to affordability.

“You know the mission of Larchmont Golf Course has always been to remain affordable for everybody and to be an appealing place for everybody to come play. Whether you’re struggling financially or you’re a doctor or lawyer. They all play here. And we want to keep it that way,” said Spurgeon.

He explained that the rate increase aligns with recommendations from the National Golf Foundation. “The rate increase again is every 3-4 years and we’re following in line with the National Golf Foundation’s recommendation that they brought forward to us last year when they visited us,” added Spurgeon.

The golf course aims to remain accessible while adjusting rates to meet industry standards. Despite the planned increase, Larchmont is considered undervalued compared to other courses in the area. Current rates for 18 holes at Larchmont are $38.

The new rates for the 2025 season are expected to be announced between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Approval from both the Larchmont Board and the county is required before the new prices are finalized.

Golfers in Missoula should anticipate spending more on their rounds as the 2025 season approaches.
