Kittitas County Search and Rescue a finalist for Land Rover Defender Service Award

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash.-Kittitas County Search and Rescue is one of five finalists for the 2024 Land Rover Defender Service Award.

Voting for the award is open through Oct. 17 and residents can vote daily.

KCSR was nominated for the Land Rover Defender Service Award by Motion State, a Cle Elum based video production company that also made a 3-minute nomination video, according to a press release on the award.

As a nonprofit run by volunteers, KCSR helps the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office in search and rescue operations.

According to the KCSO, search and rescue’s teams of 60 active volunteers include ground and backcountry, canines, horses, ORV’s, snowmobiles, drones, and technological support that help cover and respond to calls covering 2,300 acres.

Winners in the five categories for the Defender Service Awards will receive a customized Land Rover Defender and $25,000 in cash.
