KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash.-The burn ban for Kittitas County will be lifted on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Kittitas County Fire Marshal Dan Young announced the lifting of the ban on Oct. 18.

The ban had been in effect due to continued dry conditions and low relative humidity that could lead to wildfires in the area.

According to the Kittitas County Fire Marshal’s Office, the ban can be lifted due to current fuel moisture content and the projected weather patterns.

Although the burn ban is being lifted, the possibility of open burning spreading wildfires is still present and the Fire Marshal’s Office is reminding Kittitas County residents that all fires must be supervised by an adult until they are put out.

Shovels, hoses or water should also be kept nearby if burning and burning should not be done during windy weather conditions.
