Kennewick Police responds to crisis incident in Fuerza Elementary parking lot

KENNEWICK, Wash. – Fuerza Elementary was placed in a momentary secure-and-teach for police response to a crisis incident on Dec. 16.

According to the Kennewick Police Department, crews were dispatched to the Fuerza Elementary School parking lot around 12:42 p.m. to locate a teenager who was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis in their parked vehicle.

The individual was transported to a medical facility for evaluation and further help.

The KPD would like to remind the community that officers are available to help in mental health crises.
