Kennewick Police arrest suspect with history of eluding law enforcement

KENNEWICK, Wash. – KPD arrested a 38-year-old suspect associated with multiple eluding incidents on Aug. 17 in Kennewick.

According to the Kennewick Police Department, on the morning of Aug. 13, officers found a gray Nissan Sedan in Columbia Park that was involved in previous incidents of fleeing from law enforcement.

As officers attempted to contact the driver, the vehicle sped away. The driver was later identified as a 38-year-old suspect with arrest warrants for burglary and domestic violence.

The vehicle was seen later that same day but got away again as officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

On Aug. 15, the 38-year-old was contacted by BCSO Deputies after being suspected of driving under the influence in a red Honda minivan. The suspect hit a Deputy vehicle before driving away once again.

In the afternoon of Aug. 17, the suspect was seen walking away from the red minivan in the 100 block area of N Irving Pl by KPD officers. The serial eluder attempted to run away on foot but was caught without further incident.

The suspect was found with narcotics in their possession.

They were arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of attempting to elude a police vehicle, malicious mischief in the second degree, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license in the third degree, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing a public servant along with their previous warrants of burglary in the second degree and assault.
