Kennewick PD giving away free anti-theft car devices after uptick in stolen cars

KENNEWICK, Wash.-The Kennewick Police Department is giving away free anti-theft car devices in response to a recent uptick in stolen cars in East Kennewick.

According to Kennewick PD, there have been 34 cars stolen or attempted to be stolen over the last three weeks.

Kennewick residents can now get a free steering wheel lock anti-vehicle theft device by stopping by the station with identification or other proof of residency in Kennewick.

The KPD is offering the free devices as a proactive measure to prevent car thefts, according to a KPD social media post, and will give out 150 on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

The Kennewick Police Station is located at 211 W. 6th Avenue.
