PASCO, Wash.-Juneteenth events are set around the region June 14-19.
The Miss Juneteenth Scholarship Program is June 14 at 6 p.m. at Chiawana High School.
The theme of the Scholarship Program is “Soul Train” and tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door and must be purchased by June 12. Tickets may be purchased by scanning the QR code on the attached flyer. More information on the program and tickets is available by calling 509-546-1573.
A dance/reception for high school students will be held after the program at the Columbia Valley Grange Hall at 6300 W. Court Street in Pasco.
On Saturday, June 15, the Juneteenth Festival will start with a parade at 11 a.m. followed by the festival in Kurtzman Park in Pasco at noon.
The Rollarena in Richland will host a Skate Party on Wednesday, June 19. Skaters ages 15 and under will skate from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and those 16 and older will skate from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Several community organizations will also come together for a Day of Service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Kurtzman Park on June 19.
