Join the Horror Revolution: MOVIVUE Launches Global Search for the Next Great Scare

0

Today, in an exciting collaboration, MOVIVUE and FEARS Magazine launches their First Fright Competition to discover the next big horror feature-length movie. The competition is a celebration of FEARS Magazine’s doing “the fright thing” online for 25 years. The top film will debut on MOVIVUE’s new streaming platform that launches in August 2024 — and pay the winning filmmaker $1 per stream.

The First Fright Competition seeks to spotlight low- to medium-budget independent feature films that provide a unique perspective on horror storytelling. The winning film will be the cornerstone of MOVIVUE’s mid- to late-August launch, right on schedule with the start of fright season.

This premiere is part of a 90-day exclusive streaming deal, $1 per stream without any limitations may not seem like much, but could really pay off for the best filmmaker. By comparison, recording artists receive less than a nickel per song streamed on Spotify and the top performers make thousands of dollars a day.

For the winning filmmaker, MOVIVUE provides a prestigious launchpad that ensures the film will receive maximum visibility and audience engagement.

For potential subscribers to the service, a $3.99 per movie price point is more affordable for consumers. It’s a win-win-win.

A Spotlight for Independent Horror Talent

The First Fright Competition opens for submissions today, June 5th, and closes at midnight on August 4th, 2024. Decisions will be speedy as the new streaming platform is scheduled to debut in mid to late August. There is a $35.00, non-refundable submission fee.

Run times must be a minimum of 85 minutes, but not exceed 120 minutes.Films must have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2020.Films should not be currently streaming in the US and her territories.Ready to stream, having all industry-standard deliverables in place.Films must be submitted as a digital online screener via FilmFreeway. A Golden Opportunity for Indie Filmmakers

The competition doesn’t stop there. MOVIVUE also rewards the first and second runners-up with similar 90-day exclusive streaming deals. Those filmmakers will also receiving $1 per stream without any earnings caps, an opportunity to potentially earn significant revenue based on the popularity of their films.

In addition, all winners will receive free advertising for their film by Wealth of Geeks.

A New Era in Horror Streaming

Backed by Wealth of Geeks and their family of financial, news media, horror, and gaming content, MOVIVUE will be available across all major streaming platforms. At its launch, the streaming service will provide horror fans with a new way to discover innovative storytelling.

Wealth of Geeks’ 120 million website views per month will enable every horror film distributed by MOVIVUE to have the same advertising and marketing reach held by a mini studio. MOVIVUE revolutionizes the film distribution and streaming landscape by advertising and marketing its streaming platform and the films it distributes directly to its large existing customer base. Not only that, but the service is changing the landscape for payouts as well.

Major streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu typically don’t disclose their deals with filmmakers, focusing instead on creating more original content and leaving less room at the table for indie producers and directors. MOVIVUE’s filmmaker-friendly payout structure will benefit fans and creators alike: the platform pays out out a minimum of $1 per stream, based on a $3.99 price point. As films succeed on the streaming service, filmmakers will have the opportunity to continue creating high quality, original content.
