CONNELL, Wash.-North Franklin School District Superintendent Jim Jacobs has announced his retirement, effective June. 30.
The North Franklin School District accepted Jacobs’ letter of resignation at its meeting on Feb. 26.
“It’s hard to imagine the North Franklin School District without Jim Jacobs in it, as he has served in many different aspects for over 27 years,” said NFSD Board of Directors Chairperson Terry Utecht.
Jacobs has been the Superintendent for the past six years. According to the district he has also worked as a teacher, summer school director, elementary principal, junior high principal, superintendent and regional representative to the WASA board of directors.
Jacobs plans to spend time with his family and friends in retirement, according to an NFSD press release.
The NFSD Board will now begin the formal process of hiring a new Superintendent. Community forums, both in person and online, are also planned by the district on March 6 at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., to gather input from staff and the community.
