KENNEWICK, Wash.-The Tri-City Americans have named Jake Sloan team captain for the 2024-25 season.

“Jake will be entering his fifth season with the Americans and epitomizes everything we are looking for in a captain,” said General Manager Bob Tory in announcing Sloan as the 35th Captain in team history.

The Americans drafted Sloan, originally from Leduc, Alberta in the third round, with the 55th overall pick in the WHL Prospects Draft.

Sloan suited up for the Americans for the first time during the shortened 2020-21 season and has improved his point totals in each of his four WHL seasons, including the 2023-24 campaign when he led the Americans in scoring with 70 points in 68 games, according to an Americans press release.

“A leader on the ice, Jake has an even greater impact off it,” Tory said. “His commitment to the community, his professional and humble demeanour and how he interacts with his teammates, office staff and fans sets him apart.”
